Chandigarh, September 22

The Punjab government is all set to recall the Punjab Vidhan Sabha session early next week, after the Punjab Governor withdrew his consent for the Special Assembly session, which was scheduled to be held on Thursday.

A final decision to this effect is to be taken in the Cabinet meeting, scheduled for 10.30 am.

As the meeting of the Aam Aadmi legislature party began, chaired by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the MLAs are expected to hold a march from the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to the residence of Punjab Governor.

After Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit withdrew his earlier order of summoning the Special Vidhan Session, the government has been on an all out attack mode.

A meeting of all MLAs was called late last night and the CM, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and almost the entire Cabinet accused him of playing in the hands of the Opposition party leaders.

The MLAs said that the session of the Vidhan Sabha was summoned by the Governor, quoting Article 174 (1) of the Constitution of India. But no rule has been quoted to withdraw his earlier order, they told The Tribune, just before they went for the meeting.

“The BJP seems to be rattled by the expose we were planning against them in the House, for trying to topple our government,” they said.

MLAs Rupinder Happy and Dinesh Chadha, the ones who received the alleged phone calls from people claiming to be BJP leaders, told The Tribune that both the Congress and the BJP have joined hands to stop the AAP from exposing the BJP on an effort to topple their government.
